Asian Soy Curls with Vegetables and Rice

I have heard that soy curls are great in sweet and sour sauce, but that seemed boring to me so I used something different. However, the great thing about this recipe is that you can use any flavor or seasoning you want, and it’s super cheap, especially compared to take out.


Ingredients :

  • 1 package of soy curls, rehydrated
  • 1 packet of Simply Asia General Tsao Stir-Fry Sauce (or any other sauce you like)
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped thick
  • 1 yellow onion, chopped thick
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped thick
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 to 2 cups of broccoli florets, sliced in half length wise



Here is the sauce I used for this dish, but you can use any sauce you’d like.

This brand has a few other flavors that I will try soon, but sometimes I even make my own homemade sauce.


To Make : 



Start off by hydrating your soy curls. I boil a few cups of water, and pour my soy curls into a big bowl. When the water is super hot I pour it over the soy curls and let them sit while I prepare my kitchen and chop the vegetables, usually about 20 minutes.


This is what you’re going for :


Once you have all of your vegetables chopped, heat a frying pan over medium heat and place onion, broccoli, and carrots in and cover with a lid. Let them steam- fry for about 10-15 minutes, turning and flipping about ever 3 or 4 minutes so they won’t burn. In the end you want them cooked, but still crunchy.

Once those are finished, Place them in a large bowl and cover it to keep them warm. Next do the peppers in the same pan the exact same way. Once they are finished place them in the bowl as well.


Lastly, drain your soy curls and place them in a big pot over medium-high heat. You’re basically trying to boil the water out of them so they will absorb the sauce you are using. Let them cook and fry until they’re just browned and somewhat dry. Pour the sauce over them and remove from heat. Mix them in with the vegetables and stir well.


Serve over white rice and enjoy !
